I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I got to chapter six and nothing new was happening in the story. What she does know is that if she does not get away- she will never live to find out what happened to her best friend, Cassie, when they were kids. All the characters are well written and keep the story flowing smoothly. One of my favourite series is the Brilliance Saga by Marcus Sakey and it is our featured series of the month. She has been assigned a new case in Bakersville, which is a nearby heiterr.
For a debut author like Elizabeth Heiter to totally immerse me in the world of FBI Criminal profilers and the chase of a killer, was astounding. Her latest case involves murders where the killer kills and then buries his victims vertically leaving just the head exposed. Not only that, but she is also known for injecting a little romance into her work as well, something which many has also seen her gain a huge amount of acclaim as well.

Her life has been chaotic and at times, very painful yet you get a sense that this is a person who knows what she wants to do in life and is determined to succeed no matter the cost. I do a lot of research for every book.
I really enjoyed this novel. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. At the same time, Heiter’s character Evelyn Baines struggles with the discrimination women face in a male-dominated field.
She’s a match for the insane genius’s she hunts, such as the killer in this novel whose gruesome murders paralyze the local community with fear.

She never knew what happened to her friend Cassie, but the serial killer she is chasing now has made the fate of his victims all too well-known, although that may not have progiler his intention. Over and over again actually. I kept hoping it would get better.
I really enjoyed meeting and getting to know Evelyn. The problem was, the angst was super high and it kind of ruined the characters for me.

A seroes good read by a new author. She is so consumed by her cases that she has no social life, and her social skills are a mess.

If you enjoy a dose of suspense with a dash of character development and more in your books, then you might want to try this new author out.
